Jennifer L. TanakaVP & Assistant General Counsel California
Ms. Tanaka joined Pathway in 2018 and is a vice president and an assistant general counsel in the California office. She is responsible for various legal, tax, and compliance issues related to Pathway and its clients, including structuring, negotiating, and monitoring private market investment transactions.
Prior to joining Pathway, Ms. Tanaka was an associate at Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP, in its New York City and San Diego offices. At Gunderson, Ms. Tanaka advised venture capital funds and startup companies in a wide variety of corporate transactions, including venture financing, venture debt, and M&A transactions. Ms. Tanaka began her legal career at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, LLP, in New York City, where she represented large-cap companies in both private and public securities and M&A transactions. Ms. Tanaka received a BA in political science and history, with honors, from Duke University, an MA in international security and political economy, with honors, from the University of Chicago, and a JD from the University of Michigan Law School, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif.
